Creating moving image visuals for Dezeen's Awards at the stunning Hackney Church.
-
The Dezeen Awards, organised by Dezeen — the world's most influential architecture and design website — is an annual program that recognises the best global projects in architecture, interiors, design, and sustainability. It also highlights the studios, architects, and designers producing the most outstanding work.
For their 2024 edition, weareseventeen were asked to bring designer Micha Weidmann’s visual identity to life in a series of dynamic animations, inspired by the concept of a creative idea’s inception. Conceived to guide attendees seamlessly through the events of the awards night, the sequences were projected onto the vast ceiling of Hackney Church for an immersive experience. Key elements from the animations were also extracted as assets and used throughout the on-stage presentation, ensuring a cohesive visual flow. Additionally, we produced a long-form winners video, incorporating the signature colours and textures of the visual identity to unify the evening’s aesthetic.
Through the work, we aimed to capture the essence of diversity and inclusivity within the global design community. Each of the five evolving shapes featured mark a new stage, while conceptually expressing how collaboration, diverse perspectives, and growth transform a simple idea into a powerful creation that resonates and inspires.
